for $370 shipped. Unfortunately, part of me wanted HID so badly that anything under $400 was attractive. Unfortunately, I wasn't thinking and didn't email to find out what bulbs and ballasts were used (or even, who made the kit?)
So then I was kicking myself in the arsh when I saw this for cheaper: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1871945661 and at least it told of the brand and the guy has way more positive feedback.
Can somebody kill me now?

The 2nd kit for 339.00 is the same Mfg. as the Hanabi Kit.

I wouldn't worry about the difference. Seems like your ballasts are of higher quality and certainly your vendor is solid.... that's important. I think a lot of problems can be noticed in the first 2 weeks and unfortunately with ebay, many sellers consider goods sold "as is."

 

you should have just bought a brand new kit from Freddie, $370shipped for the 6,000k hanabi i think hes got like 3 left. I would NEVER buy anything off e-bay! especially $370 headlights, lol.

jae if he is a vendor he might be able to get you the right bulb.
the manufacturer that i saw was hella. but im not sure if its true that philips makes there ballasts. just email the seller. yeah i just doubled check he stated that he had other sizes you are to just email him. you got a good kit there don't be upset with it.

 

whew! thanx for the reassurance people! I love my .Org family! Ok, so all I gotta do is sit and wait. I've been looking for some time now for a <6000k HID kit for under $400. I woulda went w/hanabi, but they only got 7000k and I think that's too risky for the area I drive around.
I'll definitely post pics when I get them in! I'm so stoked cuz I'm driving to Vegas and there's like no lights on the highway!

ok the questions im about to ask will seem really stupid, but ive checked around and im still confused. I own a 2001 Black maxima gxe. And if i wanted like Hid or Xenon lights (dunnoz difference) how much would it cost? where could i get it from? do i need a specific model for it to fit? do Hids burn out like normal piaa bulbs? and if i do get these hid or xenons i want White or Blue.. i absolutely hate the color purple. reminds me of queers. Nothing wrong with them but yah..

well you can get them on ebay. or check groupbuy or for sell forums.

my hid come out bright white.
but when i first turn on my lights they are blue for like a few secounds then go to white. what i was told was the warmer they burn the light becomes brighter.

 

First of all, you need to decide what you're going for. Do you just want a lil brighter or a lot brighter.
Lil brighter: Xenon bulbs
Lotsa brighter: HID kit
Are you getting bulbs just for the color?
Color: Xenon
Color would be nice: HID
Then decide how imporant High beams are?
Need high beams: Xenon
Never use high beams: HID
And finally, How much $ you wanna spend?
$30: Xenon
$350+: HID

For Xenon, I love my Mtec bulbs ($30 shipped on ebay or local rice shop). they're a lil brighter than stock and are white w/no hint of blue. You could get ricer xenon blue for $12 on ebay...but dunno about quality. The Mtec will last as long as normal bulbs.

For HID, you need to decide what color you want. Check out http://www.misterjung.com/ to see what colors are availble (6000k shouldn't get you pulled over). Then look for a quality HID kit (most people recommend at least a european ballast maker)

Either way, you need a 9003 bulb.

Be careful when getting Xenon "HID" bulbs on eBay. My friend fried his ballasts with those. Cost a ton to fix.

 

ballasts on xenon hid bulbs? never heard of it.
