I am new to this board, anyways, I am planning to get a I30, and I am going to go check one out on the weekend. It's a 96. The question I am having is that did all the 96 come with LSD and traction control? If not, how would I be able to tell without having the jack the car up and spinning the wheels.... And is there anything else I should look out for while checking the car ?

I think the autos have traction contol and the 5-speeds have LSD. Do a search. There has been threads on how to read the VIN or the # on the trans to know for sure.

 

only the 99 models came with TCS, from what i've read all 5-speeds have the LSD.
