Will my 95 UPRD ECU work in my 98 I30T?
Just want to make sure because I will miss it so much,so does anyone think it will work? And if not then why?Whats different between a 98 and a 97 Max/I30?I would test it out but I am afraid ofdamaging something. Thanks in advance for any help.
The short answer to your question is
No... Sorry.
It's not that it is an I30T and your other car is a Maxima. It has to do with the ECU itself for the '98 model year for the I30/Maxima vs the '95-97 ECUs.
In '98, Nissan altered the ECUs significantly to where they also handled the electronic odometer functions among other things that I don't remember at the moment. Regardless, if you put your '95 ECU in the I30T it will not damage any mechanicals per se, however, certain things will not function correctly due mainly to the missing functionality in the '95 ECU itself, and the check engine light may come on as some of the O2 sensors were changed between the years and different models tend to send different signals that the ECUs expect to find.
