Tire experts- valve stem question

are all valve stems universal for all wheels? I just got some new wheels and I need to get some valve stems. Im assuming that the tire shop will install some black rubber ones but I was wondering if I can get some metal ones? like what volk has? are there any sites I can go to to order some? again, are they universal one size fits all or what?

almost all valve stems are universal the only exception are some trucks, like f350's and other huge trucks that need a different type of valve stem. when u go to the shop thats putting your wheels on you should be able to request chrome valve stems at a slightly higher price, they are exactly like the rubber ones but with a chrome sleeve over them, if you live anywhere near the d.c. area i could hook you up with the mount and balance at my NTB. where are you?

I am in CA and most likely I am going to Costco tire to mount them because they have done a good, scratch free job since I been using them. Chances are that they wont have any options about valve stems. Thats why I would like to buy all the stuff on my own and just ahve them do all the mounting. thanks anyways

i think the real metal ones look much much better. the chrome sleeve ones look cheap to me. in my opinion. Anyways, some wheels use thin metal valve stems, the rest usually use the standard metal ones.
