My brother went to buy a fully loaded (w/o TCS) sterling mist 2001 Maxima SE auto, but none of the dealers here in the Bay Area had it (a lot of gray lustures on the lot). All dealers were willing to ship it from another dealer, but it would make the car cost around $27,200 and there's no dealer hold back. One dealer was willing to sell a 01 GLE for $25,800, but we don't want a GLE (good deal, had 6 disc CD changer, spoiler, mud flaps). A lot of stuff happened inbetween also, but to make a long story short, we didn't buy anything. Someone recommended an Acura 3.2 TL. Found out it's only a little more than the Maxima, so we went to an Acura dealership, checked it out, got a test drive (my bro drove). Didn't have the color we wented, went to another dealership and bought a silver 2001 Acura 3.2 TL.

Yes I know, the Acura has bland styling...I never really liked the current TLs...styling looks old. But after awhile it looks pretty good...pretty sporty. Plus since we're going for an auto, the TL is faster. On our way to an acura dealership, we saw someone drive a new 01 sterling mist 20th Anniversary and it just doesn't look right with that body kit. I used to like how the 5th gen Maxes look, but now I think the rear looks funky. Guess I've been Acurarized.

Don't worry, I'll still be here on Maxima.org..after all, we still own 2 Maximas (selling 84 Max soon tho).
