BOSE head unit swap?

I know BOSE systems can be tricky to deal with, however, if I buy this '93 Maxima SE tomorrow, I'd want to upgrade the existing BOSE tape deck to a tape/CD unit. I know they made them this year! Is it just a swap one for the other operation? anybody know for sure? thanks!
