my car is leaking gas and after speaking with my mechanic I belive that it is the fuel filler which was recalled for my car, this is a safety issue and I feel that they should fix it right away, are they gonna screw me over and give me an apointment next week or even later? Im gonna have to miss a day of work to get this fixed and I want to get it fixed in one day, IT would be cheaper to have my mechanic fix it then to miss two days of work, because the dealer cant fix it right away.
so will they take the car and fix it or will I have to make an appointment to have it looked at and then one to have it fixed?

Well you cannot really expect the dealer to drop everything to fix your car. I do agree it is a safety issue, but their other customers may have safety items which need repair as well. Why don't you just call the dealer and find out?
If its not covered by the dealer then by all means go to an independent mechanic.
