Guys-
I am going to sell my car in the spring and need some help. In my area my car goes for $9000 as a trade in and $11,900 for retail. I am thinking about asking $10,300 for it and going down to 9900.

My car?
95Se Black Emerald, Auto, Sunroof, Pioneer Stereo with JL sub and RF amps, Polk audio seperates inside. Borbet Type E rims, CAI, Stillen Exhaust, clear corners, Hiper bulbs all around, side maker lights like a Jetta, new brakes, belts, battery, tires, starter. Car has 65k now and MAYBE 70k in the spring.

Again...assume I sold it RIGHT now and am in no hurry to sell; it can wait 3months if need be. So, can I ask $10,300 and expect it, or am I a dreamer? Better yet, can I ask more for it?

If someone lies your mods, not a dreamer.
If not, dreamer.

hmmmm

WOODEAR,

Well the prices I quoted are what cars around here go for WITHOUT mods. I personally was at the Nissan dealer and saw a 95' for sale for $11,000 with 60k on it. I also have seen them for $8500 but I can tell you that they looked abused....worn tires, dents, scratches..etc. Mine is flawless.

I think it will be better to ask 'high' and negotiate from there.

Ex. $10,500 O.B.O

Or..should I strip the mods and sell em' on EBAY!?

Go to http://www.autotrader.com & see what the regional average asking price is, but if your car is above average, then adjust accordingly. Also check you local paper, or online news classified section & make a decision. I would ask for more, but then again, I have the exact same car as you do. If it would be cost effective to remove the mods (like the CAI) & sell them separately then do it, otherwise, they stay (like the exhaust). The stereo is a toss up. Good luck & what are you looking at getting?

Where are you located?

That actually sounds like a very fair price to me, you can try to sell it for 10,500$ easily. If a car enthusiast who is intersted in mods looks at your car, they would understand the fairness of the asking price. Here in NYC, I've seen 95 GXEs with NO kind of options, very very stock with cloth and no sunroof or anything, these cars were going for 10,500. They could have dropped it to maybe 9,500. When my bro was looking for a car we looked at many 95 Maximas, there was 1 GLE which they wanted 9k for but it was in very poor condition 87k miles too.
You have low miles, probably great maintained and no problems I would guess (?) Plus the mods which are over a grand for sure, so I don't see why you can't sell it for that much. I'd say, don't go lower then 9,900 like u said. AND that would include stripping some mods, especially the more expensive ones, like rims. You'd make more money all together after selling the mods , even if u sell them at bargain prices.
I'd buy your car if its in good shape.. but I have no $$$
Maybe by spring time........

i will rephrase.
you can ask any price you want, like $40k, but what matters is what you eventually get.
my opinion is, if you can find a buyer like your mods, it might be very easy to sell for $10300. if not, you might be looking below that. i sold my mods sepeartely, and i got more than i could get as a pkg.

S2000

Yes-
I am going for the hardtop and already have my name on a waiting list for one. I took the Maxima in to a dealer on Sat. and they offered me $9,500 for it towards the S2000. The guy saw my repair records, the condition of the car and said I'll give you the max. I can. I honestly don't think that it the MAX. he can give, but it makes em feel good that someone looks at my car and appreciates that it is the cleanest 95' they have ever seen and the maint. is unreal as well.

Who knows...maybe I'll sell it to him for 10k and not worry about the hassle of selling it outright?!?!

I'll let ya know when they call me about the 'list' for the hardtop S2000

Try to get near MSRP. I hear those Honda dealers are totally ripping off everyone who tries to get the S2000. I also went to superhonda.com to see if the S2000 owners are enjoying their cars (might want to get one in future) but man, they just ***** about how everything is breaking down. It seems a little misshift and bam, there goes the engine. One dude had his suspension break with normal driving.

After reading all that, I'm wary about the S2000. It's still too early to tell if it's just because of first year models or design flaw.

S2k

I will pay MSRP or a bit less as I am friends with the dealer and went to school with his son. I heard about the car bhaving suspension problems, but not with the motor!!! $hit..I hope you are wrong, no offense

Also..someone asked where I lived....In Northeast Ohio, south of Cleveland; Medina, Ohio.

I will be buying from Sunnyside Honda in Middleburg Heights. They currently have one S2000 which is red. I am after the grey version
