I've heard of the SE's having Tokico struts and this the only reason they say they have a "sport tuned supsendion" the springs are the samew...

SE's are stiffer for sure.
I got a 98SE and a 97GXE and there is a difference.
Especially at 100+MPH

If you do a search on www.car-parts.com (a search for used parts) and type select 'coil spring' for a 98 Nissan Maxima, the choices for the front units are 'auto trans' and 'manual trans'. The choices for the rear springs are GXE/GLE or SE.

It seems they both have the same front springs, but the SE have different rear ones.

As for the struts, that site lists the GXE/GLE and SE as being different both the front and rear...

So for the springs, the SE shares the same fronts as the GLE/GXE, but has different rear units. However, it gets it own shocks/struts all the way around.

Good Luck!

The OEM struts on my 95 GXE were made by Tokico. It was stamped right on the side.
