Custom Maxima Turbo Kit!!!

i just talked to one of their customer service respresentatives about their straight pipe and discovered that they are about to release their very own maxima turbo kit!

It is supposed to give 148HP and has a billet polished blow off valve. I don't know jack sh*t about turbo's but these are the two things i found out from him about this new turbo kit coming out.

It is being tested on a maxima today in NEW JERSEY as we speak. That's where Greg is right now so you won't get emails returned till the end of the day probably...the customer service rep also said that he doesn't know the price of this new turbo but its supposed to be very competitive with other turbo's....

so anyone looking for a turbo, hold off and see what happens with this one...if anyone else has more feedback from this, please post away...

Was that 148 at the wheel? I am assuming yes but just curious at how many lbs of boost or what not.

Yes, actually the pics on his site are of my car. I am actually pretty pi$$ed about it cos I have asked Greg to remove the pics and he has refused. Notice how they look exactly the same as my car? (See my sig). They will be releasing theirs soon because they have bought a kit from PFI and have just received it. His should look nice. I believe it is chromed but I am not sure.

Any kit Greg has will probably be bought from PFI. As for the 5th gen he is promising? Well .... we'll see!

Says on the website that the price will be $4200. After shipping it will probably be around $1 billion.

Yeah i would be interested to see how their kit compares. But since the site has been promising it for a long time, who knows when they will finally release it.

It should be coming soon, since they have received the first kit. I emailed Greg a couple of months ago about removing the pics since I am also selling the kits. He refused saying that PFI emailed the pics to him. I took it up with PFI, they said that it was for illustration purposes not advertising. Regardless, if the owner asks for the pics to be removed, they should be unless Greg has a signed waiver.

It will be similar to my setup since the pipes are all copied from my car.

It doesn't matter if PFI sent them to him. They are nore PFI's to distribute. You are the copyright holder on the the pictures. He can not use them without your permission. You could complain to his host that he's using copyrighted pictures and get his site taken down if you're feeling spiteful. Just reference the DMCA.

uh,
that's pretty ****ed up if this is all there is to the story...

nigel, he can't have pics of your car there without your permission

"strictly devoted to maxima owners"
^

EDIT:
Just want to emphasize that I don't have a reason to dislike Greg, I respect him for what he has made out of custommaxima.com but just a thing like this is pretty selfish and just doesn't make you look good at all... especially the maxima.org community being the battery of custommaxima.com

hope Greg can clear this up

Once again its not that i don't like him, and its not even that he doesn't "hook" us up like other fellow .orgers do. But i don't really think he is Devoted to us Maxima Owners, he's there to make some $$, and i don't blame him. Hell i've ordered a bunch of stuff from him and i have no complaints.

About the Picture...

Greg threatened to sue a couple of friends of mine about a clip from a video for the Jersey City Meet. Maybe I can email it to you and you can trade a copy of some close up shots of his "special lady friends" ****. Also included is dialogue of someone telling him to get a shot of her walking away and the great response of "Dude, I'M ALL OVER IT".

About the kits. I think I would be interested in getting a cheaper kit that has better roots than a kit from someone who does dirty business. You guys can call it what you want, but if they do it dirty then its probably going to reflect somehow or way when the consumer gets the product.

my $.o2

well, i hope that price is a misprint because i don't think anyone is going to buy that kit for 4200 dollars...especially when there are other kits on here that have been well tested going for much cheaper...

also if you're not feeling the pfi kit for whatever reason hit up hlh. there's no reason to buy from someone who acts this way to a fellow .orgyer

Ooh! I didn't actually mean to start a "hate Greg" thread. I don't hate him, I just want him to remove my pics. He will probably remove it once he has his installed.

Why don't u talk to a lawyer, if that's the case, if he unauthorized used the picture of your car on his website, which i have seen, without a contract or a verbal agreement saying it's ok, talk to a lawyer or call him, and tell him you don't want you're picture on his website because you didn't authorize, that shiznit

the thing is,
not everyone knows about these other kits on here...

custommaxima is pretty popular, beyond the org.. there are hardcore maxima owners out there that have never even heard of the org. Given they think that this is the only kit available out there, it's either you spend 4200$ for it and have a turbo maxima, or you don't... i've seen custommaxima banners and his red/clear tails on cars that are not on the org..

he has a lot more publicity than nigel or Harold.. so he will sell a lot more of them because of that, despite of his price....

kind of like Stillen may sell more strut bars than southwestautoworks.com simply because of their name and popularity.. yet their strut bar is multiple times more expensive as southwestautoworks.com and works the same way.

basically
there will be plenty of people that buy this kit.

This entire thread just re-emphasizes why I haven't bought anything from custommaxima.com since when he first started out (doing the group deal thing, that's when it was cool). Now it's all overpriced.

It's funny how Greg selectively ignores threads like this, hoping that they will just shrivel up and die.
