I use Grease Lighting it does a good job and I have used it on my factory 97se wheels for over 2 years and on my chrome wheels for a year with no problems.Glass cleaning ----The best I have used by far is Invisible Glass ---You can find it at http://www.autopia-carcare.com or http://www.properautocare.com....Let me know if you try it...Its the best and you can not buy it in stores...If you like it ..Go to stoner.com and with some buddys buy a 12 can case alot cheaper and free shipping but I would order 1 can first and try it....You will love it --Turn your friends on to it ..They will love it....

I just use the same car soap I use to wash the rest of the car. You don't want to use anything harsh. If you keep at it, the car soap can make them shine just as much, unless they are in really bad shape.

I use Simple Green cut with 50% water. Spray it on and a little sponge action gets them looking new. I also use it in the fenderwells and anywhere else lots of crud builds up.

Refer to my detailing articles

On my web site in the Detail ZXone is a ton of articles on show quality detailing. Depending on the type wheels, there are two basic principles. Powdercoated and clearcoated wheel needs to be treated like the painted surfaces of the care. polished or chrome wheels requires a non abrasive metal polish.

The use of products like Simple Green is very bad. Even in diluted states, the product is corrisive and "will" start to eat into the finish.

Regards

You're correct. It seems SG has been found to be corrosive to bare Al (http://safety.army.mil/pages/lessonslearned/simplegreens.html), but is it really a concern for painted/coated wheels, or should it just be avoided altogether?

I'll check out your website and thanks again for the advice.

Re: Re: Refer to my detailing articles

We do not recommend it's use at all. Over time it will discolor and weaken even clearcoated finishes. Treat clearcoated wheels like the body, inclusive of wax to help rid brake dust.

Regards
