That is true... thankfully a lot of my car has been repainted so it doesn't look that bad but if I had the dough I would get a new paint job no question. Anyways good job on your award, car looks hot! Lovin' the rims too.

Thanks...i bet you are....

I'm probably going to sell them though...seems like all of the sudden 3rd geners have decided to be original and are prepping to buy them...cause you know...all VG's should have lightweigh 18" rims

Who let the dogs out?

What a gross, disgusting, cancerous, dilapitated, horrifying, hideous, trash heap, shat on wheels the new MOTM is.

I have to go buy a new keyboard now because I lost my lunch on it after seeing that piece.

what are you talkin about? lightweight 18's are the rims on peeps cars that pay mods to be MOTM. no one wants those

but on the real your car is wayy nice and you need to chill on the rim thing. just cause a few people were thinking of getting in on a good deal fer those particular rims you get all bent outta shape and i dont think neone near you went through with the purchase
congrats on MOTM.

Trust me...I'm not THAT upset but when it comes down to it I like to be somewhat different. James is probably the 1st 3rd gener w/ subzeros and they happened to be 17's and silver. In the past few years anything bigger than 17 was still a rarity so I figured i'd switch it up and get them (i tried getting subzeros a year ago as well) in 18" w/ a polished lip. If people want to copy that's fine...I'll just switch it up again...no sweat off my back but i'm not about to roll into shows this year when the bodywork etc is done and have another 3rd gen max park next to me w/ the same rims

No offense,
but did you really think you can be that slick and be original by getting these wheels???
Rota Subzeros are quite popular now and are gaining popularity not only because they are cheap, but they are built strong and are light. Weight/price.. you can't really beat them. Plus I think I remember you mentioning that you even pointed Henry/KMD to the group deal forum yourself... It was coming sooner or later, I'm expecting more and more people to pop up with these wheels soon enough.. I bought a set of 17s myself because the price was just too good to pass up, but I've already put them up for sale.. still skeptical about it though.
Basically, anything "cheap" will be popular and you can't expect to be original with it. Just like nearly every Konig style wheel has been played out for years, just like every other Honda has ADR wheels on it.. etc..

I think they fit your car great.
However, if you plan on doing shows, I can definately see your concern.
But, this was kind of bound to happen once the word spread..

and i agree w/ you totally. Essentially i can afford to put volks on my car and be totally original but i'm not about to put rims on the car that are worth more than the car itself. My opinion is this...people come here and get sh*t talked on them and they cry "i'm being original and i do for me yada yada yada"...when it comes down to it i see a trend and i'll say i don't like it if i don't like it. There's THOUSANDS of rims that come in 5X114.5 and the whole weight ratio for VG's isn't a factor. It's not a fast car...simple as that...

also i'd like someone to quote me where i said i was the originator of the subzero trend...for the people that know me around here i'm 99.9% sarcastic and my posts are just sarcasm...i never said i was the originator and never would. i've been looking to get subzeros for the past 2 years and almost jumped on "theblue's" GD a year ago...

I don't follow what is going on amongst 3rd genners that much nowadays but.... if it's really to the extent of a trend, then **** yea, I see where you are coming from and I'd be kind of p!ssed.. but, what can you do.. Can't stop others from buying same wheels or anything else for that matter especially when it is widely available for everyone out there. At least you know that you started the trend... Personally, the switch up thing sounds kind of heavy to me, cheap wheels or not, it's still over a 1000$ we're talking here and I bet some VGer will get an idential set of your next wheels, just give it some time..

I guess I understand why there are quite a few people who like to swap wheels every 1-2 years..

i believe its the time it takes for one to get up to 125mph..not getting up to a speed. i can drive a metro to 125mph downhill with wind behind me, it'll take me 10 min to do it...is that car fast?

i'm not even going to start this discussion in this thread..the point is that your car going 125mph doesn't mean it's fast.
