Has anyone tried to fill in their CAI hole

I would want to return my car to stock if I got the PRCAI, and have no worries about rusting if I sold it to someone I knew.

Has anyone tried to fill in the 3inch hole in the fender?

Any suggestions on how to do it even if you havn't?

I searched but couldn't find anything.

Yep, Warpspeed recomends the same thing at their site.

Here's what I found at Warpspeed

"Now that the opening is cut think about the future when you might sell the car, use the extra template to cut a piece of sheet metal about 1/4 to 3/8" larger than the opening. When you get ready to sell the car you can remove the CAI, paint the coverplate to match, place some silicone on the bottom of the coverplate and place it over the hole. It will never be noticed."

Do you think Silicone would work?

So they say to cut a piece of sheet metal a little larger than the hole and use silicone to attach it (like a patch or would I actually try to cut a 3inch disc and mold it flush to the sight)? I was thinking JB weld (I think thats what it's called, it's been a while since I have used it, it is two tubes of paste, once you mix them together it's like welding)

Thanks for the info.

JB Weld is the correct name for what you are thinking of. They do not suggest that you try and flush mount your disc. Just attach it like a patch. I think that this is the lazy way to do things, but who looks up under their fender anyways? So I'm sure that it would work.

pretty shure that you can get away by simply tack welding a 3" disc and grind it smooth, a coat of body filler and paint the area body color.

All I did was get a thin sheet of aluminum from home depot. cut it into a circle to cover the hole and then just used silcone to seal the surroundings..
