Ok...I was faced with a tough one last night. In a conversation with her she said that I put too much time into my car....waxing, washing, fixing, moding, customizing...and she is not gonna put up with me spending so much time on my car.....well to cut to the chase I think I am finally going to get a stillen body kit and pick up some H&R's..

Anyway, your issue....I'm guessing this is a girlfriend. You been with her long? Doyou really "love" her like your thread says? If she loves you, she should be acceptive to your hobbies. If you love her, I don't think you would make comments like that...just my .02

has no idea what the hell your talking when you say words like y-pipe and supercharger, so you find her lurking on the org, car sites, and reading the encyclopedia so that she can converse with you.

I just got into a nice arguement about random stuff with my women today. Lemmie just say this, if you honestly feel you can do better, your car can get you to the next girls house in style. If your ugly and she's hot, stop buffing your hood and buff her.

When I told my wife that I was going to move up from a 2001 Maxima GXE to a 2002 Maxima SE, she wanted to argue. I let her ramble on and on about this and that. I stopped her dead in her tracks when I told her that I planned on keeping the 2001 and she was going to get it.
You should have seen the "deer in the headlights" look that I got. Haven't heard her complain about having a Maxima yet.

haha, thats what happened with me, my girlfriend didnt know anything about maxima's and since i spend so much time talking about my car, she actually became a member of the org, about 6 months ago. she never posted, just read threads, but she doesnt do that anymore, but for that 2-3 months she did her maxima homework, i must say i am pretty proud of her knowledge

I wouldn't even worry about that. My girlfriend gets annoyed with how often I'm on the .org and my modding. My solution don't tell her when I'm on the .org and lie about how much mods cost.

My gf thinks that my SC costs only $300.
Anyway - she likes it when I work on my car - gives us our time apart, she says.
We live in a really small apartment, and she gets sick of me now and then and actually tells me to go work on my car, because otherwise I just sit around and mope.

I remember the time right after I put in my intake and was going on the onramp to a highway when the gf said:

i have had this ongoing issue with my wife since i started modding the car..
she yells and yells and then when we are a car show she is the first person to show it off.. she will like the car for about 3-4 days then go back to yelling that i spend too much money...

well i have a 3rd gen that i try my best to take care of. Maybe cos it's the only real asset I have next to my education that I'm chasing. My gf had to give her car to her parents to get new tires, and so she's using mine while her's is being done. She drives a 5spd camaro z. Like I said, I try to take care of my car so she can take care of me, and so I mod her when I can. I just got about $600 worth of suspension mods bought this week to spiff her up but can't install until the gf gets her car back. She drives my car like it's a block of wood, running into pot holes that I usually avoid to the point that my car now rattles like a freaking matchbox, always tries to take off in second burning my clutch, leaving her foot on the clutch, reverses like her life depends on it and to crown it all, I was going to install my rsb and fsb on the car this evening and told her I need the car while she's at work and then she turns around and doesnt give me the car and leaves me pretty much stranded and very idle after having a bad physics exam...i gave her a very large chunk of my mind a while ago and am still seething....sorry just needed somewhere to vent a lil....just wish all girls would realise what cars mean to college students that have no other earthly possessions....sorry people..
