can we use mini-cds ?

hey guys

I was tempted to pop in a mini CD into my Bose cd player but that common sense told me to make sure i ask someone (at least the ORG) if anyone has tried this before.. i don't want to jam the cd player or anything. Just curious, thanks!

NO!
NO NO NO NO!

WARNING NO!

It WILL jam in the drive and it WILL ruin your player.

The 8cm Mini-CD's are made to be ONLY placed into a drive that has an engravement of the same size such as a Home Stereo or a computer drive. Or even in portable CD players. Drives such as the one in the maxima that slide CD's in CANNOT accept mini cd'rs because there is no set track for the miniCD to enter into the drive.

My friend learned this the hard way in a car once. It was still in there when he sold it.

alright well you should have saved that comment for when/if i had actually popped in a mini-cd and then come sit here and complain about how to take it out.

Those of us with the OEM add-on CD player (not Bose) can use them, at least in the 4th gens. You have to have small fingers or tweezes to grab it when the CD is ejected, or else it'll keep taking it back. Works fine for me though.

actually - it is doable - you have to use the adapter though - i have a pioneer 106S slot loading dvd player on my computer..........in order to use the smaller 3 inch cd's, i just pop it into this lil adapter that it came with and it workds fine
