hey, I don't think group 35 is the exact fit battery

When I searched the forum all I saw was group 35, so I figured that's gotta be right. But c'mon now, it's night and day as far as the size difference between stock and group 35. Over an inch wider, a little taller, but identical in depth. My theory is my car was

1) purchased in NYS, ie CA emissions
2) has heated seats ie cold weather package

so group 35 is not equivalent to the battery that came from the factory. I haven't seen anyone else mention this fact, but don't the majority of Maximas have heated seats and the low windshield washer dummy light?

Lucky I put a used battery in and didn't go out and buy it. If I were to buy one, I think I'd get a 24F which seems to be the same size as the Nissan one I took out. Seems a 24F will also have more CCA in the equivalent grade and also have more plates and heft. However the used one I put in is working fine, was secured by the tie down, and has 550CCA which is good enough. I see that Interstate and Exide both have batteries which exceed the Red Top for CCA, and cost about $30 less (and fit without any special height adapters)!
