Universal muffler piping size?

I believe the Stillen muffler has 2.5" piping. I'm looking at Tanabe. Should I go with 70mm, since that's the closest I will come to 2.5"? Or should I go with 80mm?

70mm = 2.75"
80mm = 3.14"
