yeah, for now pretty much.

There are only so few 18" size designs that I'd really want to put on the car and they are a lot more expensive than these 17s...
Both of these wheels will cost me under a 1,000$ with brand new tires... balanced and installed...
I will hold off on the 18s for now..

He went from the Borbet to the Rota, so that should tell you something. I think the Borbet look a bit OEM like. You might as well keep the stock ones if you want to go with the Borbet, not worth it IMO. I like the style of the Subzeros more.

 

i dont like either one, but if i had to choose it would be the sub-zero's.

Those Subzeros just dont look right on a 4th gen...

 

Subzero's. Spokes on the Borbet are too big for my liking. They look even bigger than the stockers (which is about as big as I'd go)

IMO they look better and being lighter helps.

i always agreed w/ that since aaron got the subzeros last year...they just don't look right.

i'm obviously a fan of the subzero. it depends on what YOU like anyway so go with your guy and be happy

 

For the Borbets, it really depends on the color of the Max. I've seen them on a gold Max (Ironlung), white Max, and a black Max. They looked good on the white and black Max, but on gold it doesn't look great. There's something about the gold color that contrasts with a lot of the wheels out there. Personally, I like the Borbets. They look clean and have that subtle aggressive look. The lines of the Borbet flow really well with the 4th gen curves.

the sub zero 's look better in the box than on the car ,the center caps for the subzero will not fit once the wheels are installed the hub sticks out .

Yea, I agree with the darker colored cars looking better with the borbets..

I don't know why, but I think the weight difference bothers me most.. and I don't even race or anything

 

It's not just racing. It's every day driving.

MPG is better (very little, but hey)
Braking is better
Drivability is better

Lighter is better.

 

We think alike.

Although the differences might be very slightly noticeable to in typical driving, I'll just feel better knowing my wheels are light and the acceleration/braking/etc.. is better now than it would be with wheels almost 7 lbs heavier.. each.

However, looks still matter

 

Then it comes down to you bud, which do you like better?

i think they are cool but in 17" size, on a 4th gen.. might look a little off.. especially with such thin spokes..

the 6.5 lb per wheel difference bothers me..

but i guess you can't have it all..

True the Borbet's looked classier and more refined, but there is a huge difference in performance and that overall was what I was looking for.(+ the price) I think if there was some kind of cap that covered the whole center of the rim it would look a lot better.

Oh and BTW the car is silver, not gold.

 

That's no-brainer. Better looking and much lighter, Rota.

I'd go for the Rotas for the lighter weight and also for the slightly different look. The Borbets do kinda look like the stock rims.

despite the overwhelming support of the Rotas, I have just sold them a few hours ago

I decided that if I am still skeptical about something, it's not worth going through with it. The wheels are definately good looking, passed it on to another maxima enthusiast who hopefully enjoys them

I "may" be getting the Borbets. Though there is a good chance i will hold off on wheels in general until spring rolls around and maybe find something nicer/bigger.
