i coulnd already see what this is gonna lead to.... ported out stock manifolds arnt the same as actually smooth flowing headers, u were 100% correct about that. its just a matter of time til some1 tries these, for that matter i hope its all worth it.

Are these longtube or shorty headers? Or does that not apply to our cars?

To answer both ur questions first johnvt1111's. i have not seen the headers in person so i can't answer my question. and a price for a GD? im guessing would be in the $325+shipping range thats if some1 takes on a group deal. im not selling them i just got the catalogs in from SEMA a few days ago and saw that headers are out for 4th gen and though id let every1 know about it

Now if these are shorty headers or not is a damn good question, and like i said above ive never seen them in person so i dont know? if its a long header that replaces the y-pipe that would surley renders all the y-pipe that every1 has useless especially if its in the same price range. all the info i have on these headers is what ethan posted at the top of this thread. the # is there as well but i havnt called yet. ill probalby call after the holidays and if for some reason they are closed ill try early nex yr.

OH HOW I HOPE THEY ARE LONG ONES, BECAUSE THAT MEANS THEY WOULD REPLACE MY PRECAT ....If they were long i'd buy these for the simple fact they would replace my precat, then i'd sell my warpspeed y pipe

Well, the price would be awefull cheap if they were longtube. I'd assume that they are shorty and don't replace any of the y-pipe. That being said, the price is still fair, if the gains are there. I'd like to see +15hp/tq with these headers. I'm sure they won't be "the best bang for the buck" like the Y-pipe. (15fwhp for $215)

I tried calling them and areo speed today to inquire about the headers. Both places where closed (being Xmass eve). When I get a chance I will call them again.

That is what i figured would happen. ill try to give a call thursday while at work and get some more info. but if they are long tube im pretty sure the gains would put a y-pipe to shame considering ghe price is in the relative range, im sure a good 20-25fwhp would be seen if its a long tube. even if its short its still alot better then ported out OEM manifolds.

Re: 4th gen headers from Arospeed?

I called the 877 # and spoke to Andy in the technical department today at 12:45 cali time, gave him the part # that was listed in the magazine.

The first thing he said was

Andy "We make them but do not have any in stock"

1eye "Are these shorty or long?"

Andy "Honestly, I don't know"

Andy "Actually, we dont make them, they are still being devloped."

1eye "Do you have any dyno chart or are you going to provide charts when you do sell them?"

Andy "We dont have any yet and I dont know if we are going to offer them"

1eye "When is a good time to check back on the project?"

Andy "Check back in February"

D'oh. Just like every other company offering headers or other parts "foreign" to the Max. I doubt they will get made, and if they do, I doubt there will be much effort to squeeze max HP outta them.

See that what im sayin, for all we know it was like u said a misinformed moron on the phone, which is the case with most new companies. but i still say give it some time since that answer u got isnt a unofficial one that might not be 100% correct. i hope that is the case for this.
Btw Jamsan if u get any futher info plz keep posted im sure headers is something most every here wants (unless u have a turbo )

I was wondering if companies put stuff like that in their catalog just to see how many "hits" they get from it. Kind of a test to see if it would sell. If they get a lot of calls on something they would pursue the development of it.

Some of the cars on that page surprise me if they actually made headers for them...

ARO800961 93-97 COROLLA 1.6L
ARO800974 00-02 PT CRUISER
ARO800980 97-01 ELANTRA

and worse yet:

ARO800910 00-02 ECHO

yes i know, some of those cars they supposivley supply headers for really makes me wonder. any of those cars modded or not is slow as
****. but i might me right about the certain amount of calls for a product. hmmm how bout we just bombard them with calls about the headers 4 the max.
