Problem after replacing pcv valve...service engine light on
Anyone with a 4th gen change their pcv valve? How long are they usually good for?
I replaced the stock one with a Purolaror and noticed a sligh difference in the two. The Purolator had a ball inside while the stock had a rubber valve (or plunger) I guess you would call it. Anyway, no problems for a day or two. I just finished putting gas in the car and the 'service engine soon' light came on. The car seems to be running fine. Water in the gas? Or could it be the pcv valve? I might put the original back in just to try.

Not sure if your problem is related to
the PCV valve, but when you got gas for
your car, was the gas cap tighten all
the way (until it clicked)?? If not,
that could trigger the check engine light
to go on. I would check that first.

You got me thinking because I had my son pump the gas. But he did put the cap on. I just checked it. I took it off again and replaced it then started. Same thing.
The car was running when I put the gas in but that's nothing new. I have heard some cars like Audi's have a presurized tank and the car has to be off then pumping the gas. ??

It could be totally unrelated. Do the check engine light diagnostic as described in the Nissan FSM. That should tell you exactly what code the CEL is flashing.
