TSB/Mileage Question
TSB/Mileage Question
Recently I bought a 2000 GLE, The car is MINT and runs/ Looks like NEW.
So far I love the car but when I hit small bumps i get a clunk noise in the front end, Also I noticed the car pulls slightly to the left.
I am aware that there are TSB's related to these problems but here is where my question comes in.
The car has 42Kmi...and is out of warranty, Does the dealer still perform the "Fix" at NO charge if I bring it in with concerns relavant to these TSB's?
I have had the car in for a 4 wheel alignment and the specs were right on (meaning it didn't need aligning) yet still it pulls slightly to the left.
I checked all the suspension components for possible damage and there was NONE. All components are good and have NO play.
I did notice the car kinda saggs on the left side in the rear.
Is there anything common that would be the cause of this?
Thanks In Advance....Any help will be appreciated!

I have a 4th gen and it drifted since brand-new. I had alignments at 1k and 11k and then again at 55k to no avail. The specs are all good, I got the printouts.
If you say it goes left, are you in the left lane? Because it will tend to drift due to the crown on the road. When there is no crown, as is the case in CAnada from Rouses Pt. to Mtl., and on some state highways, the Maxima will drift less than we're accustomed to. Also the steering is a bit vague and it can be annoying if you switch from the Max to some other car and back again. If you drive only the Max, you'll get used to it.
The car does seem to sit a bit low if parked uphill. As long as the alignment is within specs and you're convinced that there's no damage, I know you hate to hear it because we all do, but everything is fine and just get used to it! I really hated the drift too when I got the car, but you really will get used to it. Good luck.
No....It drifts weather i'm in the left side of the crown or on the right side.
More so on the left for obvious reasons but this is something that will eat away at me until I fix it.
I'm a master tech(Chev and ford) and have been for the last 10+ years.
This car is dead nut on the #'s for the alignment but I think one of the strutts might be sagging.....Maybe after I replace them with lowering springs and a new set of struts the problem will subside.
The tires are NEW and the car feels the same as when I drove it with the old tires so it isn't a tire problem.
I was wondering if these cars have been known for bad strutts or springs.
Thanks for the help though, i appreciate the response.
