I like the 2k Anniversary ****, but others have said the aluminum starts to chip...no traces on mine so far and it looks good with the pedals and chrome gauge rings.

What was wrong with the sola luna? I have one coming to me so I was interested to see what was your reasons on switching back to stock.

I too have the AE shift ****. With the addition of the shift know to the aluminum dash kit and chrome gauge rings and all those goodies, it matches up VERY well. I have gotten many compliments with the AE shift ****.

The Sola Luna is an excellent ****. However, the nature of metal is that in the winter it is so cold to the touch and in the heat of summer is very hot (at least initially). Also, with my Pacesetter set to the lowest setting, the sitting position of the SL is about 1/2" shorter than stock which makes shifting a little bit more difficult. Otherwise, this **** is excellent: screws down tight (on stock threads no less), low cost, well made, adjustable collar (so you can put boot over it), nice mid size.

Don't worry, if you like round *****, the Sola Luna is the reference standard... In fact, I have not put the SL up for sale because I have a feeling it's positive attributes may be calling me some day.

Werd. I had this in my last vehicle and LOVED it. Great feel, great fit, and was the best looking **** I could find, in my opinion. My wife bought it for me.

I still have it actually...stupid auto maxima...stupid commuter traffic...

if that's the one, i dont think it will fit on your car. it's made for manual trannies/ autos without the push-button thing.

MGW Miata shift *****

Has anyone got one of these?
I wanted a Momo Race Air Leather, like StygianMax's, and they were cheap in England when I was there over Christmas, but they were out of stock!
I just searched for Miata Shift **** on Google and found this - I like it. t seems like a good price too.

Their web site is http://www.mgwltd.com/miata_shift_knob.html

All I know is that it's for a Miata, so the thread should be the correct pitch for direct replacement for the Maxima.

only concern is that since theres a 5speed indicator on top of the ****, whouldt it be hard to screw it on and have correct orientation of the picture? I would think that eiter there is some way to move the plate on top so that it goes on straight or its just a universal **** with set screws.

If it does not orient correctly, just use a tiny washer on the top of the shifter shaft to change the number of "usable" threads on the shaft. You might have to play with the thickness, but you can ultimately get it to orient correctly. I used an Acura ITR shifter on my Cherokee that way. I used elmers white glue on the washer to make it stay on the shaft while I was tightening down the **** itself. It was easy to remove when I went to the MOMO **** later.
