Looking to dampen up the doors/trunk/floors, any good materials besides the usual dynamat? Or any good resources for cheap Dynamat?

Well there's always the foam stuff or the spray-on dampeners. I have dynamat in my trunk and it made a dramatic difference but now my rear bumper starts to rattle. Solve one problem and cause another =(

If you want really cheap go to a carpet store and get the old fashioned horsehair style carpet padding.

foam tape

I use foam tape that I got to wrap my ankle from the sports doc. you can get it in a drugstore. It is a thin layer of foam that sticks on one side and comes in various widths. i first used it behind my licence place to stop the rattling.

For stuff that won't be seen and has lotsa room, I used a layer of cheap dynamat (www.mcmelectronics.com or mcmaster-carr ), then glued a 3/4" thick sheet of open cell foam on top of that. made a huge difference in the doors. even with the dynamat, there was some ringing on the metal when I knocked on the doors.. once I glued the foam on it, there was no noise.. sounded like I was knocking on a tabletop.

as for the trunk and stuff where it will be seen, I would recommend 1-2 layers of dynamat, or the spray on gunk, then glue some trunk mat on up of it. I stuck it in my trunk underneath my amp rack and I didn't notice a difference in noise, but the nasty appearance was gone. It at least covered up the ugly stuff..
