well not to add to this POS thread but on the 88-91 Honda Civics the grounds were so bad that improved grounding does add about 6HP. My CRX only had one little 12 guage wire on the battery to the engine and one 14 on the valve cover to frame. I actually fried the one on the valve cover somehow once and the engine would run most nothing else because ecu grounded to engine and accessories to the chassis. That sucked. Never hurts though to have a good ground power setup things can only run better.

well like what a few other people say, its not adding HP, but allowing the car to perform more at its optimal level so the bottleneck wont be the wiring, and more free-flowing energy = more HP so to say.

*EDIT* i just realized this is an old thread.

I know I'm posting in an old thread, but I tried the grounding kits TWICE and did not notice much difference in anything.

I'm just hoping to improve my idle and if it also helps starting even a little, that would be also good.

it can't hurt.
if you don't think it does anything don't do it.
if you do thats nice. it certainly doesn't add 10hp or anything like that.
personally i would think the BIG 3 would be better for all things considered...

grounding kits are a waste of money, period. I installed active tunings kit on my 96 auto with 92,000 miles (the perfect candidate for a grounding kit IMO). There were absolutely NO changes overall in performance or smoothness. The supposed "quicker shifts in autos" "lights not dimming anymore" "quicker startups" "added hp" and so on that active tuning claims this products will do...well it DOESN'T. Perfect way to waste 50 bucks..If you want a smoother running engine or added hp try cleaning your IAC Valve and Throttle Body. Better yet, just give your car a tune-up instead of trying to take the easy way out and installing one of those POS.

that's because you bougth Active Tuning's kit and not one that was properly designed.

What parts of the car did you bolt the spaghetti to?

I followed the instructions on their website->http://www.activetuning.com/products...stallation.php I wouldn't call it "spaghetti", it looked to be good quality cables and connectors. Don't see how something that simple couldn't be properly designed..Either way, I knew I should have just made them myself. Would have lost some time but saved some money.

i made my own over the weekend, and i can tell you that my 98 auto with lots of miles, did not do a damn thing. I used 2 gauge wire with copper terminals, followed directons from active tuning. Waste of 25bucks to me.

THey don't add power. THey just arguably increase efficiency of the electrical system which may be fine as is. It's a feel-good mod, not HP making one.

it's his 3rd post. what a newb.

the big 3... alt to batt, batt to chassie, batt to engine all with 0awg unless i'm mistaken those are the points...i would doubt there is much of an improvement if i did the big 3 and then the grounding kit. any opinions of people who have both? i need to do the big 3 for my stereo...

I don't think he was talking to you. I think he was talking about that newbie that talked about his body kit instead of the grouding kit.

Maybe ONE of those wires will actually help the car. the rest of them are added weight. Buy a kit and install it properly and you'll see more than what you did with that kit.

How would you suggest on installing it properly?

I'm guessing the answer is: "Buy one of his kits and find out for yourself."

Buddy Club Condenser DYNO-PROVEN +10whp/+10tq @ 5200 on a Mazda 3.

So, I would venture out on a limb and say...

Yes.
