This was posted to the SE-R list...

Fellow List Members,

A guy came into our dealership today (I work parts at Mike Pallone
Nissan in Springfield, VA) named Bob Clark. He works for Nissan (I am not
familiar with him) and had recently laid eyes on the new SE-R, Altima, and Z
car. He also had some interesting tid bits on the Maxima and full sized
truck.

SE-R: Said it was four doors, and would have a 160HP 4-Cylinder.

Altima: Base will have 160HP (Same Engine as SE-R?) and there will be a V-6
with 240HP. Said the chassis is actually larger than the Maxima chassis.

Z: The guy said he saw both a coupe and convertible and the conv. was
absolutely gorgeous. Said it will have a V6 with 300+ HP (Thought it would
be NA!)

Maxima: He mentioned the Maxima will get an HP bump to 280, and will
eventually get a V-8. Also said it will get a larger chassis soon.

Full-Sized Truck: He described the truck as a Dodge Ram on steroids. .
don't know if that's good or bad though. . . .

He also mentioned the Q45 and said it will have power REAR seats. That's the
first I've seen.

One more thing. If you live near DC and need parts, Pallone Nissan has parts
prices pretty much matching Courtesy, although we don't ship. Come on by and
get a fellow LM to help ya!

Maxima with a V8?

dang, the only problem with this is it will have totally moved out of sports sedan status with that (bigger chassis, ect). It looks like they're trying to gradually make it a big luxury sedan!

Doubt it, but wouldn't that be freakin cool?!

I would go buy one the day they are released if they put a Skyline motor in it.

I read a story the other day (don't remember where) that the next gen Skyline will not have the 2.6L I6 engines anymore (I think it's RB series or RE series or something like that). But rather, Nissan is developing a line of narrow angle V6 engines (first one will be 2.6 or 2.7L) similar to VW's 15 degree V6 engines.

As mentioned above

the S-class came with Power rear seats and also rear heated seats. Optional on all Long Wheel base models except for the S600 which came standard. This was the previous Sclass. I'm sure the new Sclass has them optional on the S430, but standard on the S500. The Bmw 750iL has them also along with heated rear seats. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. Those older Sclass's have 4 zone climate control sweet huh?

Z and Se-r

I've heard from sources within Nissan that there will be a new SE-R with 180HP and a 6-Speed tranny, a real pocket rocket indeed.

The new Z will 90% likely be NA with no turbo in the near future. There is more info at freshalloy.com about that. Its going to be displayed at the LA auto show on the 8th of this month. Should be fun.
