Well, we know what the CR for the 3.0 is as well as the displacement. You can then figure out the combustion chamber volume. If you use the 3.5L bottom end with the CC volume from the 3.0 heads, then you can figure out the new CR. And yep, 11.6 would be the resulting CR. Pretty high. Definitely would NEED to run that motor with the JWT cams...and even those might not reduce the dynamic compression enough to eliminate predetonation...may need some chamber work (smoothing, etc) to assist as well.

Since the VQ30DE wasn't used in any big sports cars, the aftermarket development is nowhere near as big as it's going to be for the 300zx, silvia/240, or the 350z. A lot of thought went into the VQ33DE (VQ30 with some VQ35 parts. Stroked? I forget) in one of Don's threads, but without uber-aftermarket development like that on the 350z, unless one of us wins the lottery, it's gonna take a lot of saving and spending to get a VQ30DE close to that sort of performance.
And on that note .... props to Mardi
