The first one was a 5-speed del sol that was heavily modded. He told me he had CAI, headers, cat-back, cam, ECU, and I forget what else. We started at 5 mph, he pulled on me a hair at first, but when it was said and done around 80, I had two car lengths on him. He was like damn...I was eating your exhaust. The second car was a 5-speed integra. I thought I was gonna get creamed. We went from the stoplight and I jumped ahead about half a carlength and that is exactly where we stayed till about 70, it couldn't gain on me and I couldn't pull away. The best part was that the integra driver was a hot blonde and she told me I had a nice car and then rolled her window up. My car is an auto and I think it is really slow, maybe these people just couldn't drive. Anyways that y-pipe made a world of difference.
BTW: I just found out the integra was a type R.

A 96 SE auto slow haha nah.. I have surprised people with my car from the very begining. Have you thought about getting the UPRD ECU as your next mod???
I have an auto too and I beat plenty of GSR w/Intake, exhaust and header. It's normal. What you need to look out for are the Type R, with 30 more hp. Those will pull on you. People with 5speed max should be able to keep up.

Ok..What's the magazine 1/4 time for a Type R. 14.8-15.1. I'm guessing here.
What's your fastest 1/4 doug?

Ok, I'm talking about 4th Gen 5 speed maxima here. Maxima's advantage is from a deadstop. The torque is what gets us off the line quicker than a Type R. A rolling 25-100mph, the type R will eat us alive. Stock for Stock from dead stop to 1/4, it will be so close. Stock for stock from a rolling 25-100mph, type R will be aleast a car ahead by 100mph. Now, if we are talking about 5th gen 5 speed, stock for stock...Maxima will win both from a deadstop and rolling start. Doug, I'm not doubting your roadkills because 5speed max and type R are very closely matched. It all depends on the driver =)

[I]my best was 15.1 with crappy wheel spin but that was my 97 Max, i never dragged my 95 5spd.... but we don't race from dead stops now do we
and my torque powaz was with me...

I agree Tony but the GSR and R guys MUST be in the right gear. ie.. if both cars(max and VTEC honda) get caught in let's say 2nd gear at 3000 rpms, the maxima is gonna blow it away. The maxima has much better low rpm torque than the hondas do. So the hondas are quick but driver skill is much more important in their cars. I doubt most guys really know how to drive their gsr and type R cars right.

GSR's are not even a challenge.. i've seen them at the track ...
a car that is a very good race would be a prelude.. they run 15.1-15.3 at the track with intake .. I've raced one from 30-60.. i pulled a little bit and shut it down .. then came the classic RICER FLY-BY with the hazards on..
Type R's will be very close to a modded 5-spd max on the highway..
off the line the max will be even..
i was even with a ITR from 10-50
of course this is with my slow automagic slushbox.. and without Doug's incredible driving skills

Okay, my friends GSR 4-door ran a 15.1 before. I raced him on the interstate at about 50 until I governed at 118 (wheres that ECU!) and we were dead even. I raced a 2k ITR two weeks ago and he pulled on me hard! 4th gen 5-spds can easily kill a ITR? Give me some of that crack your smokin'!
