compression test results from 12k mi Built motor

Cylinders

1 2 3 4 5 6

200 200 205 0 195 195

so uh yea....cylinder #4 is dead....

tests was done with full battery charge 5 cranks from starter motor. dropped some oil into #4 and retest with same results. i think a valve or spring went bad....so sad

What head work do you have done? Do you have OEM valves and valve springs or aftermarket?

There might be a way to replace the valve spring with the head on IF you get the air pressure to push the valve up and seal the head. #4 is the the back right? Will be harder but easier than doing a HG.

So you aren't going to be getting rid of the Max yet, whew......

Good luck on the stock motor Matthel, the least you need now is another engine replacement....

BTW, do you have a spare non-locking 5-speed manual tranny sitting around????

Dude. If you can get to the valve spring by using compressed air, that would be 10x easier than swapping motors. Plus you would be swapping a weaker motor in. Keep the faith!

I just got done swapping motors. A big pain!
