Well I know personally that different grades of sandpaper will do it and etc..

But if I wanted to do larger surfaces or just do things faster, what would be good to get?? I have a dremel and I have a couple of metal cleaning/polishing kits, but these won't do much for big areas (i think)..

I was looking on ebay and they have some hand held belt sanders and I was curious if that would be a way to go? I've also heard that people have used attachments for drills, but I don't know anything about where to get them or even what the consist of?

Any info would be great, thanks.

I did search, and I found some useful info if I was doing everything by hand with just sheets of sand paper, but I didn't find much about good tools to use, where to get them, what to expect to pay, and how to use them to get the best results.

I am searching again as we speak, if I find something that answers my question this thread will be trashed.

Look for a Mustang 5.0 article about polishing his intake manifold. That dude did an excellent job.

only thing i found with searching was how to do it by hand and that a lot of people complain.. i know how to do it by hand and have done it by hand.

i think i have narrowed it down to getting a palm sander and some polishing compound, and sanding the compound into the metal with lower grits and then using oil or water at higher grits and then buffing with the dremel or just with polish cleaner..

The only big tools I use for my polishing work are a work bench mounted buffer wheel, palm sander, and a dremel tool if you want to call it a "big tool". Thats all I have a need for...
