Motor Trend's site has a preview of the LA autoshow.. on there they talked about the 2002 TL Type-S(read 260hp... yummy!)

Anyways... this is funny:
"Standard creature comforts have expanded to include six-disc in-dash CD changer, seat memory, auto-up driver's window, tilt headrests, and 0.8-g-capable cupholder."

Notice the .80 capable cup holder! I wonder what that means, probably mean you can autox with a coke and not spill.

They stole that idea from the current Passat. Of course, you can't get anything in the Passat cupholder, but if you could it would hold it steady at .8g.

I've had several bevergaes tip in my cupholder from either acceleration or braking, but none that I can remember from lateral acceleration.

Who cares...

How many g's it can take? All that matters is how many cupholders it's got. If that TL-S doesn't have at least 10 like my mom's Suburban, it's worthless.

That's pulling G's as well... same force, different directions.
