Liscence...suspended!

Hey everyone,

I got a letter in the mail the other day from the gov't saying my drivers liscence was suspended. I was but then I remembered that KY has this law where you have to take a state sponsored class within 1 year of getting your liscence. So as soon as I take that class, I'm in good shape again. But I never knew how much I'd miss the max until I didnt have her. She sits in the garage...undriven.

Die.

Its not a test, its a 4 hour class that they offer at least once a month. So I'll have it soon enough. And you're right, the max does deserve better. She deserves better than a lot of what she has right now (dirty, blown front speakers, bad 02 sensor, wrecked front fender). Will be fixed soon (Right Brian?)!

Yea but your insurance company will know you have had a suspended license. That means higher rates.

sorry to hear...hope the class helps you get back on the road...

I am trying to think what I would do in the same situation...I would loose my mind.

despite the fact the wifey would probably not let me survive the suspension

I have to go tomorrow to drop the max off for a well-needed new clutch. I don't wanna go without her. For now, I have to tough it out with my moms 2000 Sable

This is true. This is the worst part about getting a suspended license.

Mine has been suspended twice.

In cases like this, it's simply a legality that the liscense was suspended.. if they raise your rates because of this, then you cna take 'em to court. this was not a violation of any traffic laws, thus your risk level doesn't show any change- which means they can't touch your insurance rates.

now having it suspended for not paying a ticket is another story.....

True, i was going to add to my statement, but the issue is dealing with them in getting this proved. Some agents/companies arent that easy to convince. I got nationwide and had to go through a rack of shiet and almost got dropped with all the crap i was giving them.

it's not that hard. simply fax/mail/show them a copy of the paper that says the liscense was suspended due to the failure to take the test. problem solved. if that person doesn't understand, then ask for their supervisor. and continue the trend until you have action.

it's good that you just have to take the class, I wasted $950 for a lawyer to keep my license from suspention not including the fine money which is $350 more. I was driving fast.

hehe. yeah...going over 100 mph

in my garage...no the sig is photoshopped.
I was driving about 90 in a 55, I braked when I see the patrol so he got me doing 86.

That's no problem if i was over 21, but I was only 20 so had to get a lawyer.

You think it would've made a difference if you had been over 21? 86 in a 55 is still over 30mph over the limit...

I just got a ticket for 77mph in a 55 (2 lane freeway)
I was overtaking a van, and saw the bike cop just as I got level with the van - never actually passed the van, but the cop said he clocked me going from 60-77mph in about 2 seconds..Damn that 3rd gear!

I don't know about other states but here in GA, if you are under 21 and speed 24 miles more than the limit you will lose your license for 6 months, got about 4 points on your license and pay the fine, but if you are over 21 you just get the points and pay the fine.

Thats what I was thinking. If anything, I'll finally get a discount on the insurance for taking a drivers ed class of some sort. I just want it back. Its a pain not having it.

My car sits in the garage too jason...but the key word was the last one.
