it seems like every year around this time, i second guess myself, and what i should do about the Maxima.

some of you may know, i'm now the proud owner of a Z33 Track Edition and happily motoring along. its a great feeling to own a true sports car, and you can't help but smile when you let the clutch dump and you just lite up the rear tires...(and do real donuts.. foing forward!)

i've been a member of this forum way back in the day and can actually remember the first mods i bought (from Don in Tx) and 'growing' up with this forum from Andi to Keving... not to mention doing my own site...

The maxima is a great car, but i think maybe i should move on... after a few final projects that i have to finish up for contractial purposes...i think the maxima is done and might go the way of the TRex... i just have less and less time now to keep up with the forums, especially with work (mang, who knew working full time could take. like.. full time!)

i just wanted to say thanks for your support through maximadriver.com, and yes, eventually i will get the new version up,...

Your car is awesome and it would be a shame to see it parted out. I vote to race KevinG and see what happens. I'd like to know who would win either way!

 

No sense in having two fast cars. I mean, why try to ice-skate uphill in the maxima? If you want to keep the miles of the Z, maybe buy realy small cheapie car and deep six the max or sell it whole to someone here?

Just keep it as your daily driver and save the Z for special Occasions...and sunday Drives. I don't think I will ever leave the maxima family...let alone nissan...either way you couldn't possibly go wrong

 

I dont mind having a 2 seater true sports car now as a daily driver. Anyway, I've only had ONE time when I've actually missed having a sedan and that was when I was clubbin- but honestly I wouldnt have missed it either had I gotten somebody else to drive and me get blasted.

Loose the car. The resale isnt gonna get any better.

 

keep your Maxiam dude all the time hard work and money to part out and selll....Keep it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

I am sure there are occasions that you rather not take the Z out and put miles on it....

just take the max then...



Your maxima is probably not worth more than 7k now. Why sell it, you will get some $ for it, but you'll likely need a second car.... so you will go back and buy something else, used, in god knows what shape....



I'd really either keep it, with all the mods.... if you can afford it.

or

part it out and still keep it... as a second car. beater.. whatever u want to call it.

 

Race Kev and record it. Then keep it as a daily driver and use your Z for the weekends.

if you're having this many doubts about keeping it, maybe it's time to let it go. flip a coin, do whatever, either way, you're gonna miss it but you've got your new car to move on with so decide whether or not you need it as a second, if not, sell.

Also, won't your insurance be cheaper if you have the max as the daily driver instead of the Z?

 

I say to keep the Maxima as it is in its high point. I see no reason to part it off and sell it, especially if you are gonna have a family in the future with your significant other. Just think, the 350Z cannot hold a baby's seat in the back seat (trunk lol), but a Maxima can.....

You have one of the best looking 4th gens out there, all that time, sweat, energy, scrapes and scratches on your hands for what? For nothing!?! Its always good to have a second car anyway,there will be days when you will not want to take the new baby out like when you have to go shopping at Home Depot or something.

Cheston, please..just keep the car. Im sure its paid off, im sure you dont need to spend money on it anymore. NO sense in selling it, and never seeing your hard earned work again, just to be handed to some guy who will never see what you saw in your own car. Your gonna wonder where your maxima is at 1am, and its not gonna be in your garage. Just keep the car as an extra ride.

Before I got my Z and just had the max...I would have said...KEEP THE MAX...but now, I've realized that my time with the max, while great, has come to an end. If I simply took all the aftermarket parts off the max, and used it as a Daily driver, I would always get an empty, unfulfilling feeling when driving it, thus I am returing it to stock and selling it. If I want a daily driver, I'll get something else. Get rid of the max and remember it as your first GREAT, QUICK, AWESOME car...not as the second to the Z....

Just keep it man, its pretty much an icon to me and several other people on the boards, plus who's gonna cruise with me that one vacation I choose to put my car on the autotrain and visit Cali?

I had an old SR20DET '89 240SX fully built pushin out mucho hp and i was forced to sell it- and now every time i think about it i miss it... so now with the Maxima I'm keeping it... no matter what I've put so much into this car---- I'm keepin it already picked up the SC400 and more good things are on the way

either way dont forget to come hang out with us...

 

Return it to stock and keep it as a daily driver.

 

Be like a buddy of mine and keep both. He still has his fixed up Accord V6 that's waiting for an S/C install, and then he also has a 330Ci 5MT. Another guy I know still has his Accord V6, reduced to beater status, and is now enjoying his new G35C 6MT.


Drive either your Max or your Z depending on what kind of mood you're in that day and/or the weather

 

sell the maxima and buy something more luxurious as a daily driver.. like an used E46 323 .. used IS300... something you an cruise style in .. if you live where it snows.. buy an SUV

 

Sell the Maxima and part it.....Then take what you have left and slap a turbo kit on the Z

 

he is rolling in the dough.. he doesn't even need to worry about selling for a TT kit.. he can do that anyway.. thats why i suggested another car as a luxo crusiser..
