busted tranny month

busted tranny month

tranny went out last monday 1-13-03
front pump blew out with no warning driving 80 mph on the freeway
replaced with new trans from nissan
running like a champ now

First off thats is way too much for a brand new tranny! You could have got one for $1400 with 13K or you could have got one for $2200.00 thats the standard price for new one from Nissan. I was quoted up to $2400.00 but then again they slammed you with the labor costs if everything added up to $2600.00.

i work for a toyota dealer

the 90 nissan maxima gxe is not rebuilt by nissan as all the other year models are 91-03. i called 5 other nissans to verify and they all said the same thing.the transmission is new--not a reman.
also i did my own labor at the shop so the price was just the trans,fluid and an oil pressure switch.i don't have 2-3 weeks while some jack leg overhauls my trans,this took 3 days and i was on the streets again with a brand new trans that i expect another 13 years out of.
