Stillen Battery Tie Down

I dunno if you guys know about this already, but Stealin does it again...40 bucks for a tie down. It's smaller than the Southwest Auto Works one too. I dunno if it will fit an Optima. More info BTW, I didn't buy it, I just came across it.

The optimas aren't bigger. In fact, my optima was smaller than the battery my car came with.

you should get a battery spacer when you install the optima battery in a max.

i got it free from Interstate.

Not really necessary. Just but a couple nuts as washers, slightly larger than the nut on the J-bolt, and you'll be fine.

The way I see it, the battery is still secured just as well as intended. When you put a spacer under the battery, it's not held in as well anymore.

Plus, it's cheaper to do it with the nuts.
