What is different about the set up between a 5-speed transmission and an automatic transmission as far as a supercharger is cocerned on a 2000 maxima? and why is it available for the 1999 3.0 motor with an automatic?

 

the tranny is well.. POOP.. stillen will not sell you a s/c if you tell them you have an automagic 2000+


the s/c will cause you to blow the tranny up.

how long have you had the s/c on your ride?
also, what times did you run the quarter in?

 

Would it help if you did a VB mod and add a trans cooler?

 

blew my trans with a VB mod, now fully built. Stillen didn't like the fact I wanted to do it. They make autos sign waivers that void and SC warrenty. They don't sell the SC until They get it back.

20th Maxstyle= what do you mean by fully built....what did you change, modify or add to your tranny?

 

Don't believe all the BS from guys who aren't running autos. I run more much more HP than a S/C will give and the auto will take it fine.

 

Mines blew too.. But that allowed me to do a 5spd conversion

 

maxima trannies are crap.. and the auto trannies are crappier

Ben your tranny blew already???

 

all 5th gen shifts slower than 4th gen, the early 00 autos are the worst & some of them slips a lot.

 

ya my tranny sucks and its the only thing keeping me from getting boost. Damn thing is definately slipping and the dealership wont fix it! Im just waiting for mine to go and then maybe 5 speed swap or sell it and buy something else.....

Yup, like 1500 miles aftre I was sc'ed which was at 129,500 miles total on that tranny. I went and got a rebuild with a better torque converter and I was charged about $2K. Everything is perfect now, like new. I just have to get the SC tuned and then decide if I'm goin to keep the auto or start looking for 5-spd conversion parts.

 

I didn't realize the 2k's were like that, too bad.

 

My 2k max auto tranny blew with with only 60000 on it after installing the sc for only 750miles!!!

I drive like a bat out of hell though!
