So I put 6,000 miles on my car in 50 days
I hope your job is giving you back at least 0.30 cents per mile. If not, I would consider getting a beater. I used to have a job that made me put 600 miles/week on my car. That's only 2400 miles/month. But still, I hated it because I was only driving to and from work. If it's for pleasure, then it don't matter to me

But heh i get paid to drive my MAX all day long. even though that's something i would do for free
I have put about 9000 miles in 3 weeks..
...starting a week after I bought the car. Did a roadtrip from Wisconsin to Arizona, California, up to Seatlle, WA and then crossed Idaho, Wyoming, etc back to WI.
Darn, I am still surprised on how much mileage I have put on my car right after I bought it.
Now, I am wondering....how do you deduct the mileage on your tax return? Any hints would be appreciated.

not so bad...
last semester my commute to school was nearly 200 miles a day. 3 - 4 days a week + a lot of other driving, to work and such that i did as well..
800-1000 miles a week.
I put 12k miles on over the course of 3.5 months...
i'm at about 130k already

This summer, my wife was driving 1500 miles per week just for work.. 13,500 between over a 9 week span from June to August.
and that was JUST for school.. add another thousand or so per month in driving up to see me (before we were married)

Arghh.....
I am still in the paycheck-to-paycheck bandwagon....
.
My job requires me to travel about 2 weeks out of 4 weeks in a month, on average. I still change my oil filter every 5k....that's about 2 months.....
I guess I just like to drive around.....
. Approaching 130k and going....

3500 in 4 days for me. The day after I purchased the car, too. Had to run to Kansas (from GA) for a funeral.

Wow...some of you guys are crazy! hehe....would be good to get mileage back if it's for work though. In a period of 10 days or so year before last, I got something like $175 for making a few trips to a city 60 miles away from here.
I've put like, just less than 12k a year on my max since I got it. And I'm 21...that surprised me quite a bit. But I live 3 minutes from work, 2 minutes from parents place, and 7 minutes from school.
Used to put 25k a year on my previous hondas

People must enjoy the max to be putting that many miles in so little time.

I'm a self employed network consultant - All miles drive to and from a client's site are reimbursed at 36.5c per mile. All miles driven on business, not billable to a client, I reimburse myself from my corporation, as a business expense - that way I don't pay tax on it.
Two weeks ago, I went to a client that's 195 miles away.
Total 390 miles = $142.35
I bought my max becuase I knew I woud be driving a lot and my Chevy Blazer gets about 16 miles per gallon - so I guess in a way, the max is my beater!
