actually, think about it, why not just have your own damn local meet
NE can pull off 80 easily, I am sure LA can come close to it also. Thus, if they really want it at TX or some where in the middle of country again, and you don't want to cross half of the country to attend, just let them have the maxus and you organize your own meet.
easier that way huh?

I agree with woodear about the own meet thing and the suggestion

I made earlier about hte half point spots for each region, Did anyone atleast read and think about my idea earlier? What do you guys think about it? I mean it would be nice to have meets every where just this one have itat three points. Do research on half points that have good nissan sales places. And contact some sponsors. It could happen. What do you think about that Idea, eh?-max88q

I recommend we rotate locations. TX guys can get all the work one year, then the east coast, then the west coast.

But whatever. Plan it FAR in advance-- start NOW-- and more people will be able to come!

Do you guys notice it seems the main people are ignoring this thread or at least not replying? See if they even cared about MAXUS they would have popped in given some ideas, or took more suggestions. That is why MAXUS is never prepared PROPERLY or in a timely manner. Wake up MAXIMA.ORG team

It's only fair to rotate and I agree w/Cheston, so see you in Vegas (even though I am from Texas). Then after this year, use a centralized location, or hold those satellite linked multi-meets.

Russ, **** or get off the pot, but don't stand on a soapbox and preach to the ones trying to do something.

back to real issues now..
I'm willing to go for the 3 meets at once thing, or rotate it too, if that's what everyone wishes. It seems that it's kinda already rotating anyway, since it was in Dallas in '99 and Atlanta in '00. Vegas is fine with me for '01, just give me plenty of time to get there and remind be to buy an extra set of tires and a larger gas tank beforehand!

My whole point earlier wasn't for my convenience, it was for the interest of getting everyone together. If noone wants to do that, then by all means have one on the east or west coast. if you SoCal guys want to see some NE flavor, then you're gonna have to be willing to drive 1000+ miles.. same goes for the NE guys that want to see the SoCal crew.
I'm fortunate (or dumb) enough to live right in the middle, so I'm fine with it being anywhere but New York. (us okies get scared when the streets are wider than our cattle trails and the cows move faster than the traffic). I drove 1000 miles to the last one, I guess 1200miles for the next one can't be much worse.

That's mighty nice of you and all that.
But the thing you aren't seeing is, not everyone(on two coasts) is gonna make the trip to the middle. So even though you are doing it for them to have a chance, the real chance is 95% of them aren't going.

Russ, watch your mouth....

Like I said in that other thread, if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all. Granted, bringing real problems to administrator's attention is needed, but whining and moaining incessantly and rudely, is not helpful at all.

If you ever put more than your $.02 in (ie, if you actually help plan and execute all the way through), then feel free to criticize the MAXUS crew...otherwise, thank them for their time, their efforts, and then bite your tongue.

I haven't replied till now because, although I'm sure this thread will be taken in to consideration when making the decision as to MAXUS 2001's location, it will not be the determining factor. It's merely a place to voice an opinion about where it should be... I'm cool with Vegas or DC, so I have nothing to offer, hence, I've read the thread, and not replied.

And as for MAXUS never being prepared "PROPERLY or in a timely manner"....shut your mouth. Where do you feel that you have the right to criticize an event like MAXUS, which many people put many hours of planning and preproduction in to, only to have fools like you criticize every freakin little thing. MAXUS costs no money to attend, which means, it's hard to put on a large event and get everything donated. So just shut the hell up please. You were at the first MAXUS...was there a problem with planning, or the event? Seeing as it was the first time we'd ever done anything like it, I think it went extremely well. And well, you weren't even at the one in Atlanta, so you have no right, room, or option to voice your opinion about it.

What do you care? You don't have a Maxima....

Being a 'main' person, I personally don't care where it is. If I want to go, I'll go.

Heck (Nickelodean Rule), it was in Atlanta last year where I am a mere 300 miles away and I didn't attend. What guarantee is there that I would go if it were 50 miles or 1500 miles away?

That's why I keep my trap shut. If I'm not (or cannot) going, then I don't want to be reamed for complaining about 'why isn't it ever here' and not show up.

Russ, go plan a Sentra meet or something....
