Flywheels the same?

Are the VE and VQ flywheel the same? we recently found out the clutchs are. But can anyone match the part numbers? I have searched and come up believing 50/50, I still dont know

The reason I am asking is, almost finished with the 5 speed conversion, but the flywheel was heated up so bad from the bad clutch in the trans I am using, that it cannot be resurfaced and it is easy to find a VQ flywheel.

Thanks.

I talked to a guy at Courtesy and he wouldn't say whether it would work or not, but he did tell me that the part numbers were different

Well i have a lightened flywheel for my VQ. Also it might be different cause mine had a disc on it to felect back to a sensor on the engine side. Dont know how yours fits up so it might be different. Good luck, i know these things can be a pain.

You can get a lightened flywheel for a VE, VG or VQ.

I don't think so, because the VQ and VE are different in many little things, I wouldn't risk just buy one for the VE. I got an AASCO for $400.00 shipped from Stillen.
