Today I finally recieved my type 2 wing and realised that the trunk on my I30 is completly flat unlike a Maxima's trunk which is curved{like the wing}.So I have to make the 2 center pillars on the wing about a 1 1/4 inches longer. How exactly can I do this? Is there a particular brand of mold stuff I should use?Heres my current plan= put a screw into the pilers and then apply mold around it so that it will have better structural regidity. When the screw is in place I will apply a oversized glob of mold around it and then sand it to perfection and then have it painted. If anyone has any suggestion or helpful hints I would greatly appreciate it because I am in the dark on this one. Thanks!

Your best bet to get it done right the first time
cause there is no second chance with something like this, is to find a custom shop, that is used to building custom hotrods and the like OR a body shop that can use foam and fiberglass very well. you need to start off with a foam core for the extention( blue external house insulation sheets work great for this) layered to match the height you need and trimmed to the correct shape of the piller. Then use a layer of regular glass cloth, then covered by a layer of fine weave cloth, then sanded smooth. another way is to use something new we use in High powered rocketry. It's a kevlar sock, the you slip over what you want to cover, epoxy it, then use a fine glass cloth to finish it. Then have it sanded, preped, and painted.

lol I'm sorry, i couldn't help but laughing.

emax: I really wouldn't mess with it myself - find a shop to do it for you. Last thing you want is your pylons snapping off!
