What problems do you have right now on your Maxima?

Oil leak, squeaking brakes, trunk rattles, paint chips, transmission hesitates to shift, windows won’t roll down, sunroof stuck, stuff like that.........

 

Well let me think.
Slight clutch chatter while going into first gear.
Broken winshield.
Blown struts.
Need to paint body kit.
Bose HU going out.
Rattles throughout the car.

 

my problem is that my sh*t is MAD DIRTY

 

a few stone chips on the front bumper
an occasional "ping" coming from the engine during acceleration
shifter shifts like a bucket of rocks
other than that, trouble free

 

its too slow, and I have an oil leak coming from somewhere. Other than that, no troubles

 

Well, nothing life threatening...but here goes:

BENT RIM from hitting POTHOLE this morning.
Unknown Power Drain from somewhere.
Scratch down the passenger side from door to rear tire (Center cap from rim came off @ 60mph).
Leaking clear corner blew my bulb.

I guess that is it for now. All to be fixed very soon...just waiting on somethings...

 

also alternator sucked after recall.. had to fix the belt tensioner/idler pulley...

Elusive electrical problem after plugging power invertor into cig lighter (car has been down for 2 MONTHES NOW)

needs rear brakes

busted motor mounts

busted cv boots

heater fan going out

 

cd player doesn't like some of my burned CDs

Tires are the OEM's and still a long way away from being replaced

 

I'll take the cake on this one.

Drivers side brakes do not work (hole in the brake line under the car)
clutch is going out....again

Missing a Centercap and Konig can't figure out which one goes on my wheel

oh yeah, the entire back end of my car is a mess of welds and huge gapping holes. (R34 taillight conversion gone bad)

dead CPS sensor (not my fault)
engine misfires- still havent solved
front crank seal leaked
rear main leaked

Blose headunit doesnt play CDs anymore (it used to)
squeeks n rattles
paint sux
sunroof made of cardboard
im sure theres more stuff

pretty good for a 7 year old max.

 

1) The cars age really starting to show. Rust, original clear coat flaking. When I look at homepage pics I just say damn those were the days.
2) Engine bay dirty as hell
3) Koni's and Sprints in garage with zero time for install
4) Intermittent jerking and bucking from the engine, again zero time to diagnose
5) Really need to upgrade/change my cooling system, besides the H2O pump and maybe 3 coolant flushes everything original with over 125K

rear struts blew, changed to AGX and i think front driver jus blew
rough ride (from H&R + AGX + 17s)
sluggish feeling, acceleration feeels laggy
paint chips (mainly from rocks on road) & scratches
crappy stock non-bose stereo and 3 cd changer
squeaky brakes but probably my fault

 

It won't fly!!!!!

...missing gear, that is, and the 5-speed that goes with it.

Other than that she's running like day one.

TRANSMISSION

- differential bearings gone bad
- annoying whining in all gears (diff bearings)
- shifter vibrates/rattles (developed recently... no idea what caused this )
- ******* clutch seems to be slipping
- shuddering when using clutch (have no idea why this just happened... motor mounts went bad all of a sudden?)




oh yeah, the brakes have always squeeled... and i lost 1 big nut off my centercap so one wheel looks incomplete. But what takes the cake on my car is the ****ty tranny (for past 4 months like that)

 

aside from paint issues on my bumpers...
exhaust hits rear sway bar and makes noise
hood struts are done, but being replaced soon cheap!
front left tire is all weird...needs to be balanced or something
needles are sticking on gauges...

nothing major, luckily.

 

mine is upside down

 

new front struts need to be put on (whenever the weather warm up)
bad wheel bearings
parking brake cable needs fixin'
need new struts for rear
need new rotors all around
need new tires after winter
car needs a good long bath!

 

Bad brakes, locking calipers, bad tires (doesn't really count), pings resulting in old owners not using premium (shame on them). Other than that no transmission problems or anything. 75,000 miles on the 96 max.

 

105K miles and only a leaky Oil Sending Unit. The car has been flawless otherwise since 000 miles new.

And for some reason, I still don't have a rattle or creek! I think I may have a factory freek in that respect. Anybody else in my same shoes?

 

rattles & wind noise, bad engine mounts, bad strut mounts, squeaky brakes, leaking oil level sensor, busted radiator support bushings, lower control arm bushings cracked, just normal for a vehicle w/ 158K miles

 

Rattles come and go,
wind noice coming from back window. thats it, 6000 miles on my 03 se

 

I second that, hate Chicago winters. That and getting 225 miles to a whole tank of gas...

Absolutely freakin' impossible to launch in the rain on some of the local roads. We're talking idling across some of these intersections...

 

-fluttering noise at high speeds
-rattles everywhere
-Bose display is gone
-Air temp control lights are dying
-GLE rims clearcoat is peeling like mad

 

Car runs fine.

 

- rattles in suspension (again) but can't blame the car. roads are here.
- my flex pipe or something is going.
- rear brakes squeak and groan sometimes.
- parking brake light is stuck on
- some squeking noise around my steering wheel console.
- paint but who cares about it.
- my always dirty TB. i gave up on it.
- something with my electricals. getting slight dimming and stereo resets from power lack when volume is up a bit. perhaps ground wires.
- wheel bearings? or something with the driveshaft on the left side. it almost feels like i have travel in my linkage. like you can feel it hop when you accelerate hard; its not the brand new engine mounts either. if i loose power to the left wheel then i'll look into it.



basically small things. so i am happy atm.

MY TRANSMISSION IS ROCK SOLID sorry i had to brag!

 

I'm sure you've checked but just thought I'd ask, have you checked your brake fluid recently?

 

Let's see, this is what I got:
1. Moisture in driver's side headlamp
2. Mad suspension noise
3. Squeaky brakes
4. Clutch graon
5. Dirty throttle body
6. Millions of paint chips
7. Dirty as hell

Other than that, she runs like a dream.

 

32k miles on it now

1 big paint chip on hood (there when got car with 95 miles )

duct work on passenger side dash vent rattles from the 4 times a crappy dealer tried to fix an unusual noise they could not find.

12(10 to the sad one referenced above and 2 to another) trips to the dealer, letter to the Atty Gen office, entered into moderation with the BBB for a buy back, got a Fact rep involved who replaced the y pipe, all coil packs, and some other things only to find out the problem was a power steering hose vibrating up against a heat shield on the exhaust manifold and was fixed in about 10 minutes.

We have replaced the tires and it drive like an entirely different car. Look out 100k miles, here we come.......

The 99 SE we had was great...... I miss that car......
