18x8 vs my stock 16s

I just bought some 18x8 rims and tires, and I would like to know if my maxima will be slower with the 18x8 vs the stock 16 inch se rims.I think the new rims arent that much heavier, but I think it will make my car a bit slower ..Anyone with 18x8s in here have any expriences with their new bigger rims and tires post your results.I think I will notice my car being slower at low speeds but I think at higher speeds I shouldnt be able to notice to much of a diffrence.

In general, yes larger diameter wheels take more power to get them moving compared to the smaller wheels (rotation inertia). But this is also going to depend on which wheels you bought. Some 18's out there are actually pretty light, you just have to spend more money on them.

Yes, they will slow you down. But unless you go the track its not a big deal. If you do go to the track just change them when you go.

The fun that you gain by your increased cornering ability will outweigh the decrease in acceleration. Oh yeah, and they will look good too!

What kind did you get?
