rim cleaner

rim cleaner

For those with crome rims and with this bad weather here in NY what are you guys using to get that shine back on your rims.

I don't have chrome but use chrome polish No.7, but first wash what you can really good with soap or catrol all wheel cleaner(OR BOTH), this cleans my white rims real good, I live in Washington DC,AND WE HAVE SIMALAR WEATHER!

I'd be careful with using those rim cleaners on chrome. Just use warm water and soap. and maybe some meguires polish

Check the "cleaning your max" thread in the 5th gen forum. It actually should be in the general max forum. But anyhow, there is plenty of information in that thread on cleaning your wheels. Personally I use just soap and lots of water. They I use a metal polish and to keep the shine I use that german synthetic wax, Klasse, it's great stuff.

I would stay away from wheel cleaners as much as possible, only use them if there is some tar on your wheels or something that wont come off with some soap and water, and a stiff wheel brush. It'd prolly be a good idea to wax them, to help protect em from salt.
