Replacing clutch. With "bolt-on" power, OEM or ACT Street?
Hi All,
It looks like I'll be replacing my clutch.
If I'm not trying to get big power on my 96, are there advantages to getting an ACT Street clutch, or should I stick with the OEM one?
Any others to consider?
Best prices on any of the above?
thanks
Phil

Don't get the Key Value Nissan clutch (Nissan approved cheapie aftermarket). Have heard a lot of negative feedback. The ACT street clutch doesn't cost a whole lot more than the OEM Nissan replacement, and the performance is much improved. I would wholeheartedly suggest the ACT street unit (HDMM). It gives a slightly stiffer clutch pedal but the engagement is smooth (although engagement is quicker, I feel it is smoother and less prone to chatter than the OEM clutch), and the holding power is fantastic. You will never experience an overheated/weak clutch with the ACT unit.
I've had the ACT street unit on my car for 50K miles and it still performs brilliantly.
