Check out my Prelude seats in my Maxima

My home e-mail is screwed up so I have to respond here to those who were asking about the Prelude seats.
The 1996 Prelude seats are out of VTEC model. From what I understand, this is the only model that had leather. The center section of the seat is perforated and the seats look exactly like the seats out of a 911. The cushioning is extremely bolstered and the pads are very firm. The drivers seat has multiple adjustments for recline and lumbar, but that's it. When I installed them, I had the rear of the seat slightly lowered so I sit more in it and so the front of the seat bolsters my long thighs. I bought the seats from a buddy for $200 who tried to install them in his 97 Del Sol (seats were too tall). He bought the seats from a import junkyard for $200. The seats are approximately 10lbs lighter than the driver's power seat.
I test fitted the seats prior to install. One of the front brackets on the Prelude seat actually works with the stock mounting hole on the Max. The front brackets fit fine over raised front seat perch. The Prelude seats sat WAY too low in the rear. I went to a car interior fab shop and showed them what I wanted. To them it was a "cake" install. They welded a 2"X2"X1/8" peice of steel to the outside front Prelude braket and drilled a hole. The front mounting brackets were done and bolted up (easy install). Both rear brackets were extended a few inches using the same kind of steel for the front. The shop then took a hollow piece of square tubing and welded it to the extension, raising the rear of the seat to a more level driving position. They then drilled a hole in the extension and ran a long bolt thru the extension into hollow tube and into the stock mounting hole. I think I paid $160 for install. All I had to do was take off the Nissan seat belt clip and interchange it onto the Prelude seat which means you take off a bolt and interchange the two. The seats look great and perfectly match the black interior.
Next on my list is a Infiniti I30 rear seat with the adjustable headrests.
As long as the width the seat is okay, I don't see why you really couldn't put any kind of seat in a car. Fabricating brackets is amazingly simple.
