Would you be interested in poly engine mounts?

If so, please read this thread in the Canadian forum.

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....hreadid=196424

For those of you not in the Toronto area, I would be willing to make either full polyurethane mounts, or stock mounts with gaps filled with polyurethane.

You would either mail me a set for me to fabricate. It would take about 2 days to fab, and then send out. So if I receieved on say a Monday, I would be shipping out on a Wednesday. Or you can send payment for whatever the cost of new mounts are on top of the labour and return shipping.

You can choose to use whatever shipping method desire, and will pay for all shipping charges. I will only charge for the materials and labour.

As I have already stated, expect significantly lower prices then Cattman. Final pricing will be provided after this weekend.

Full polyurethane mounts will be cheaper then the filled new oe mounts as there are obviously higher materials costs involved.

I'm expecting the prices to be similar to Cattman/Place Racing's, if the person drops off the car to me, and significantly less if you simply drop them off to me or ship them too me. If someone wants only the filled ones, they have two options. They can either source and deliver/drop off the mounts themselves, and pay for my work, or they can pay me the cost of buying new oe mounts from the dealership, on top of the labour cost.

Thus, this is the scenario.

1. You drop off your car, and want full poly
- you'll pay Cattman/Place Racing type pricing

2. You send me/drop off used mounts for full poly
- pay significantly less then CM/PR

3. Want me to buy oe mounts to fill
- pay about the cost of CM/PR, essentially replacing labour cost for new oe mount cost

I'm also looking for junked Maximas in my area so that I can remove the stock mounts from them. If the mounts are scuffed/rusting, I'll clean them up, paint them, then fill with poly. That way, for those looking to do the labour themselves, or are not close enough for me to do the labour for them, I can have a couple sets premade, then ship them out.

Sorry I don't know how much aftermarket mounts cost...

How much would you charge for a set of new OEM mounts filled and shipped to 80123?

Autotragic btw...

I should have a better idea of pricing by the end of the weekend.

Sorry guys, got delayed this weekend. Some dumbass backed into my rear bumper yesterday. Left some scratches. Totally their fault, so looks like I'll get a free rear bumper repaint.

Mounts are off the car

Actually not too hard. The only thing was, it was raining and kinda cold (5-6 Celcius, low 40 F)(yes, I'm sick that way, and sick as well).

BTW, that rear engine mount is a bihotch to get at. That spindle that goes through the engine mount is located in SUCH an inconvenient location.

I'll be removing the rubber from the stock mounts tonight. Then I'll pour in the polyurethane. I'll let it sit at STP overnight, then put em in the oven tomorrow, and have them sit in the oven till Sunday.

I'll keep you guys posted. I'll probably post again when I'm done with them for the night, and again on Sunday when I get them back onto the car.

Poly is curing, and will be ready for install tomorrow evening.

BTW, the engine mounts are WAY WAY WAY WAY WAAAAAAYYYYYYYY more complex then you think they are.

Engine mounts are in. I couldn't be more happy. All I can say is

LORD O MIGHTY! I can't personally detect a difference in idle vibration (you are more then likely to tell for yourself at the next meet in the GTA). Whatever little bit of ACT chatter I got is gone. And coupled with the ACT, the car is just an absolutely blast to drive. The engine doesn't rock nearly as much. ESPECIALLY on shifts, and changes between throttle on and off. And, what's even crazier is, the car seems to ride better too now. Must be less engine tossing. And honestly, you can actually feel the difference in the amount the engine stays put.

Give me a couple days, and I'll post more info on providing these mounts.

Alright guys. Everything is pretty much worked out. I will be manufacturing engine mounts. These are the options I will be offering:

1. Full Service - Full Polyurethane
- you drop off your car by Friday evening (6pm at the latest)
- your car will be ready for you by Sunday evening (5pm at the latest)

2. Full Service - Filled New Mounts
- you drop off your car by Friday evening (6pm at the latest)
- your car will be ready for you by Sunday evening (5pm at the latest)

3. Mounts Only - Full Polyurethane
- you either drop off used mounts or ship them to me
- within 48 hours, they will be ready for pick up or shipped back

4. Mounts Only - Filled New Moutns
- you either drop off new mounts or ship them to me or pay me to purchase mounts locally
- within 48 hours, they will be ready for pick up or shipped back

There is one more option which I have yet to confirm, which is:

5. Mounts Only - Full Polyurethane (no core deposit)
- I will source used mounts locally
- they will be ready for pick up or to be shipped within 48 hours.

I am currently unable to produce the mounts, and/or sell them at this time. However, I will be ready to produce by the first week of May. Because it will be another month before I am able to sell these, I will not provide pricing at this time. Pricing will be made available in two weeks. Expect Full Service - Full Polyurethane to be similar in pricing to the list price of Cattman/Place Racing Engine mounts alone, without taxes or shipping. New Mounts Filled pricing is not yet available as I have yet to confirm pricing on new mounts from the dealership, but will be made available in about two weeks.

Because I have already provided a good idea of pricing and there have been posts of interest, when pricing is provided in two weeks, I will begin booking service. As always, it is first come first serve.

Sorry man, comp didn't show your pic the last time I was on the first page of this thread. Guess it didn't update.

The older the mount, the rougher the roads, the more miles on the engine, etc, etc, the more you'll benefit from this.

HOWEVER, the stock mounts are VERY VERY soft. They just can't keep tabs on the engine with how soft they are. You'll notice your car rides better afterwards simply because the engine isn't tossing about in the engine. Everything just feels more solid and secure.
