Flaking Foliatec??
Flaking Foliatec??
I painted my calipers with Foliatec (brushed) last Aug. I spent a long time prepping by taking an orbital sander to it. I also sanded by hand in the harder to reach spots. Following that, I used de-greasing spray that comes in the Foliatec box. After pulling of my winter tires last Sat. I found the paint was flaking off in a couple spots on the rear calipers. It's right at the tapered section (looks like "fingers" for lack of a better description and pic) that's very close to the brake pad.
Anyone experience this before? Should I have prepped differently (better)? I still have some of the paint and lacquer so I'm going to prep and touch up once the weather is warm enough.
Thx for any insights.

Wow, that's so much more prep than I did. I just sprayed brake cleaner on it, dried, then applied and I used 6 dollar Pep Boys spray. No problems here. If you went to that much prep and it still flaked, you're probably just hosed. I would apply a few more layers and hope for the best, but you did the right thing in the first place.
