maximas acting wierd

for a while my max was idleing high and i brought it in and they replaced the throttle body under warrenty. it helped the problem out a lot. but in the last 2 days (its gone from 20's to 70's in a week) here in IL. my max has been idleling low like around 4-500. when it gets that low it vibrates a little and just a few minutes ago when starting my car up to leave work it took like 5sec to turn over. never took more than one could it be the battery??
any suggestions would be great.

cleaning all the ground wires under the hood seem to help me out with rough/low idle. maybe try that or even replace the battery cables as they corrode and start to oxidize over time.

well the wierd thing is that, it was idleing high all winter, and the past 2 days it was warm, like 70's. in this weather it idled low, like 500-700. and today it shot down to the low 40's high 30's and its back to normal/high. im so confused

how do you "clean your ground wires"

thanks, don

Take a wire hand brush and clean the contacts.

Does your temp gauge inside always come up to the normal operating range? Sounds like your engine runs a bit cool and the high idle plunger on the throttle body is keeping your idle slightly high when it's cold outside. Once it's warmer, your coolant comes up to normal operating temp and the high idle plunger releases your high idle. Then your normal idle speed just needs a quick adjustment.

If that is the case, replace your thermostat so your coolant gets up to the proper temperature and have the idle speed adjusted to 650-750 range when your car is hot.
