Not a good enough excuse for not getting 6 spd. It's not like you live in NYC, LA, or Chi-Town

fastest 2k2 auto NA is running 13.7

Can't dispute that Sprite.....

well then people must not know how to drive they 2k2 auto's because i out run them with a bone stock 99 over and over

but then again.. when you race on the highway you don't run from a dead stop

FYI .. blu and Neal are trapping close to the same.. as a matter of fact.. Dave B is trapping with blu.. so you telling me faster means 1/4 mile times? or faster as in a race on the highway?

A good example of trap speeds is Tony Chang ran 14.5@104mph, he roasted the tires in 1st and 2nd, so spinning increased his trap but hendered his 1/4 time. Besides racing on the highway is dangerous.

1/4 times are where it matters(higher traps can indicate no traction), but I am not gonna argue, cause this is the web and we all know about your sig disclaimer, haha.

Its all good Sprite

If I had a family and child I would get a Auto too, Personally I don't think there is anything wrong with a Automatic Maxima.

Its got plenty of HP for everyday crusing, Its not like you are going to take your Wife and 2 year old Kids Racing.

If you did that, shame on you for risking their lifes

Congrats on Getting the Maxima

uhhh ooo I know my car isn't a highway racer but it can hold its own. Now to keep it on subject at the track I have a quicker car stock and and quicker car modded than any 4th gen on this board. Notice I say quicker not faster b/c I think it would be a decent run with a modded 4th gen but the only one I have run has been BJJ with and intake and y pipe and I pull on him about 3-4 cars from 40-110(on video). As far as trap speeds I almost hit 100 spinning and everyone knows if you spin off the line you trap a little higher.

From a dead stop perhaps, but not all the time from a roll. That nice and tall 3rd gear in the 2k2 auto is very easy to exploit in a 4th Gen 5spd right around 80 mph

We are talking 1/4 times, highway racing is very dangerous

So go plot some Dyno curves divided by pot hole mass then factor in cell phone use raised to the nth power and then see how good autos are, hehe

Its all in good fun

4th Gen 3.0 5MT: high-14's to low-15's @ 92-93
5th Gen 3.5 4AT: high-14's to low-15's @ 92-93

When you narrow it all the way down to Car A vs Car B then results may vary. But in the grand scheme of things the two cars perform very similarly both at the track and on the highways.

Traps are simular.. that means that the cars are simular..

blu you are getting 2.0 60fts.. hardly 5spd 4th Gen owners can pull that off.. so obviously your 1/4 mile times would be faster..

with 2.2 60fts you are running .4 secs slower.. which is basically 14.2/14.4 ..

anywhoo.. the cars are basically on par with each other from a dead stop.. and on the highway or from a roll the 5spd 4th Gen has the advantage

Untill you guys find some way to prove to me otherwise, I say A stock 2k2 Auto 0wn3s a stock 4th Gen 5 speed in the 1/4.

I watched Matt run a 14.66 with a low milege 100% stock auto. It wasn't rocket science. Any stock A32's doing this????

My point is that both cars will perform similarly. More driver skill is obviously required to get a 4th Gen manual equal to a 2k2 auto at the track, but capability wise the cars are still similar.

I'd get an Adire Audio Brahma, Better Audio D2 series or an Elemental Designs A series sub for a nice SQL Sub that can compare/exceed a W7 for a lot less.
