outside thermometer....?

since many cars have this feature and have for years, howcome maximas don't come with it? maybe some do that i don't know about? anyways, my friend has one is his dorm room that he just wired it outside of his window, and inside he has the digital screen that tells him what the temp is currently. so my question is: is there a way we could do this or something we could buy that we could hook up somewhere on the outside of the car, and have it digitally displayed inside the car? he said his was cheap so that's why i'm asking, because if it was a decent lil wad of cash, i wouldn't even bother because it doesn't matter that much, just could be cool.

ideas or comments?

wayfinder. go to ebay and type wayfinder. I installed one before and it seems to be very accurate.

as well as 98-99's with acc, just with the 98 you have to add the button yourself or install a 99 ACC unit, everything else is there.

This is the break down of all Maximas with the outside temp. display:

3rd gen:1989,90,92,93,94 (for 91 they didnt offer automatic climate control)= have the ambient outside temp dislay with the automatic climate control.

4th gen: 1995-98 doesnot have an outside (ambient) button/display. 99 does with automatic climate control. Some guys claim to have added the button to 98's.

5th Gen: 2000-01 has the ambient with automatic climate control. 2002-03 has the outside temp(ambient) displayed in the trip computer doesnot require auto climate control.

6th Gen: 2004 also in the trip computer/climate/maintenance display, all 04's have auto climate control.

yup. My 99 GLE has an outside temp guage which seems pretty accurate (if you compare it to the billboards which show temp or the radio weather channel).
