Will these tires fit on my rims?
#4
OK, so now I talk to the lady at tirerack and she tells me that 235/40's wont fit on an 18X7.5 rim?? I thought they would fit fine? So I call a local tire shop, HE tells me since I'm lowering the car to get 225/40's. But the lady at tirerack said the load bearing of the tire isnt enough for my car? Which is what all started this in the first place. PLEASE HELP! christ

It's up to you, the 225/40s will have a sidewall of 3.54in and the 235/40s will have a sidewall of 3.70in...really not much of a difference...i'm ruinning 225/40s...check my homepage for pics...the 235s won't be much taller...by the way, i'm running H&Rs w/18s as well

She's not telling you this because they will rub. She's telling you this because 235/40 is out of spec on an 18x7.5" wheel. The widest the National Tire Association recommends is 225 40 18.
If you run a 235 40 18 on that wheel, you will definitely have no warranty on them.
